It is almost Halloween and this year I went on a hunt for easy pumpkin decorating ideas. Don’t get me wrong, we still love to carve pumpkins too, but this year I wanted to decorate additional pumpkins for the house. Fortunately, I was able to find three great ideas from products that I purchased at my local Target.
Pumpkin Face Felt Kits
If you haven’t checked out the $1 spot at Target, run! This is the best place on earth to find inexpensive, seasonal gifts, craft ideas and more. This year, I picked up two Pumpkin Face Felt Kits. There were five different varieties to choose from and they are so easy to use. Each felt kit comes with the pieces necessary to make a perfect pumpkin face. The pieces are pre-cut and have a sticky back. Carefully remove the felt pieces from the plastic backing and stick to your pumpkin.
Foam Stickers
Target also has a variety of Halloween-themed foam stickers. These stickers are easy to use and perfect for young children too! Simply remove the paper backing and stick to the pumpkin. I made a cute Halloween scene on my pumpkin.
Washi Tape
If you haven’t tried Washi Tape yet, you must! Washi Tape is made from natural fibers such as bamboo, hemp or the bark of trees and feel like a thinner version of masking tape. The best thing about Washi Tape is that it comes in many colors, patterns and designs. Crafters have found many different uses for Washi Tape. Don’t believe me? Just search for Washi Tape on Pinterest and you will find a plethora of crafting ideas. Washi Tape is easy to use and I simply started at the top of my pumpkin and wrapped the tape around. You could make all kinds of designs with Washi Tape.

I prefer to decorate like this rather than carve because I think the pumpkins stay good longer. I tend to find mold in carved pumpkins after a few days which really grosses me out! These are all cute ideas!

Now that is my kind of decorating. The whole guts thing of the pumpkin really freaks me out.

What a great idea, we don’t need the inside of the pumpkin here anyway (that’s something for my in-laws house!)
And I suppose the pumpkin will last longer that way too!
thanks,
Mitch
